It’s time to play some tennis!
Welcome to the 2009 tennis season! We have improved the schedules, events and management of our tennis program. ASTC offers four courts for club members and their guests including two lighted club courts and two city courts. The two city courts are available to all Avondale Estates residents, but the two lighted, club courts are reserved for club members only. Our covered pavilion makes a great viewing and reception area for our club matches.
Tennis has become a popular sport with our members and it’s a great way to meet new people, get exercise and compete in a friendly environment. Courts are busy throughout the year with member play, adult and junior practice, private lessons, party tennis, interclub matches and tournaments. We are excited to have more and more ALTA and USTA teams!
Our goal this year is to provide more tennis amenities for club members. Please welcome Dorian Adam as our club pro. Dorian is a member of the Professional Tennis Registry, played college tennis, and has provided instruction and coaching at the junior, high school and adult ranks. He will be providing our community with a menu of activities including clinics, team coaching and junior programs – including a summer tennis camp in addition to individual and group instruction. Look for details in Dorian’s online newsletter! We are also planning to utilize the website more effectively, so be sure you add our website to your list of favorites. Keep it clean
Your board of directors works hard to keep the courts in excellent playing condition. Please help us maintain our courts. It’s a great help when members clean up after themselves and leave the courts in a clean condition for the next players. Kindly empty the trash receptacles at the nets if they are full, and if you see any trash on the courts, please clean it up! We all benefit by keeping our grounds clean.
